Mrs. MINERT, mother of John MINERT, died in Waukon a short time
ago, at the age of 70 years. She was buried in the Minert
cemetery, northeast of Postville, at the same hour that Mrs.
NOBLE was buried. They were both pioneer settlers of Post twp. a
third of a century ago.
MARRIED.
At the Catholic church in Postville on Feb 11th, Mr. John MECOTA
of Spillville and Miss Katie SCHULER of Grand Meadow twp.
BETHEL BUZZINGS.
Mother HAMMELL has been afflicted most all winter with some kind
of a mercurail sore on one of her lower limbs.
Ed. WATERS bought the Waukon stage line, not George!
The following friends last week made arrangements for
sons-in-laws within twenty years: S.C. HALE, J.W. HARRIS and
Assessor LAUGHLIN. Mothers all doing well except Mrs. HALE, whom
we trust will soon be better.
Father HARRIS is still a wanderer in a strange land, being at
Norton, Kansas, last week. He reports his children all well
there, and says that Renzo POWELL and wife have their house so
near completed that they have moved into it.
Lemuel LEET moved into his new house on the 8th ult. New houses
on section 24 are quite plenty with 3 built in the last year --
George LULL, J. HAMMEL AND L. LEET. Hans CHRISTOPHERSON did not
build, but will the coming summer, I bet.
