Mr. and Mrs. David RIFEY, of Hardin have a new daughter.

I am prepared to dehorn cattle safely. I use the H.H. Haaff patent chute, patented in 1889. Geo. McWILLIAMS.

Mrs. C.W. HUFSCHMIDT, of Prairie du Chien, formerly of Lansing, died recently of heart disease, aged 63 years.

Mrs. Dennis CHURCH and children, of Chamberlain, Dak. are visiting with "the old folks at home" (Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. PEARSON) and other relatives and friends in Hardin.

A barn belonging to Julius NAGLE, at Hardin, was burned on Wednesday morning, with some hay and grain and stock, including a horse and some cows. It is a terrible blow to a poor man. The fire supposedly was started by someone in the barn stealing grain.

Fred KLUSS has a new boy. Lute STONE has a new boy.

Frank GLINES left suddenly over 2 weeks ago and has not yet returned.

Robert EVANS is our new tailor.

At Waukon, Nov. 14th; Mr. Oliver KILGORE of Sundance, Wyoming and Miss Elizabeth GORDON, of Postville. They depart next week for Wyoming, their future home.

Jas. PARKER has added to the census a girl. J.H. LAUGHLIN has contributed a boy.
Frank ERVIN and Miss Blanch STILES were married at Prairie du Chien on Tuesday evening.

I.C. McWILLIAMS, 4 1/2 miles SW of Luana, will have a large auction sale next Thursday.

I have the most of my accounts settled, but a few remain and I must have the balance fixed up within ten days, as I am then going to start for the west. E. HARRIS
