W.F. SMITH, state treasurer of South Dakota, with his wife and family visited his brother P.T. SMITH over Sunday.

Fred McMARTIN left last week for Montreal, Canada, his old home, where he will remain about 2 months.

Loul ERRICKSON returned from Sioux Falls last week quite sick. He has been at Hardy BARNES'.

H.F. MEYER has a Christmas present in a little girl at his house.

J.B. HART had a fine buffalo robe stolen from his vehicle at the M.E. church while the Christmas tree exercises were going on.

DIED.
Near Republic City, Republic County, Kansas, Nov 1, 1889, A.J. BREEDLOVE, aged 80 years, 2 months and 2 days. Mr. BREEDLOVE resided near Postville from 1848-1877 and was well known to all the early settlers of this section.

MARRIED.
By E. SWENSON, J.P., at his residence in Post twp. December 24, 1889. Mr. Sherman B. WEBSTER and Miss Margaret VICKERY, both of Post twp.
