Postville Review

During the electrical storm of Sunday night the barn of J.M.
HARRIS near Bethel church was struck by lightning and consumed,
with all its contents, which mainly consisted of hay, it
containing 22 loads at the time. No stock or machinery were in
the barn at the time. The fire illuminated the heavens so that it
was plainly visible from Postville. The barn was insured in
Webster's agency for $1,000, but there was no insurance on
contents; so that Mr. HARRIS will be quite a severe looser. His
house was burned a little over a year ago, which proves that if
lightning don't strike twice in one place fires sometimes do.
Joe GRAY was called to Nebraska last week on account of an
accident that occurred to his brother there.
