BETHEL ITEMS
Esq. HARRIS' family has been increased by one boy, Jan. 29th,
1881. The Esquire looks quite fatherly now-a-days.
LOCAL ITEMS
DIED. The 29th of January, in Grand Meadow, Clayton Co., at the
residence of her son-in-law, Mr. T. HEINS, Mrs. Elizabeth
SCHULTZ, at the age of 67 years. Buried at Postville, on Monday,
the 1st followed by a large concourse of relatives, friends and
neighbors.
BORN. Jan. 31,'81, a female child to Mrs. BLANCHARD.
I have about 20 tons of splendid timothy hay which I will sell
and deliver anywhere in town at market price. T.B. COWLES.
The literary society will meet next Monday evening at Dr.
BROWN's.
Our old Howard county friend, H.W. BABCOCK, made us a pleasant
call on Thursday.
A daughter and two sons of Mrs. P.L. SMITH are here on a visit to
their mother and sister.

Our Dramatic Association have procured a revised edition
of this time honored play, which they have decided to produce
during the present month. The play will be produced with all its
proper scenery, properties and costumes.

Notice of Final Settlement
To Mrs. Sarah E. Jones and all whom it may concern, heirs at law
of W.E. Jones, deceased: You are hereby notified that there will
be on file, on the 15th day of Feb., 1881, in the office of the
Clerk of the Circuit Court of Allamakee county, Iowa, the final
report of James McAdam, Administrator of the estate of the said
Wm. E. Jones, deceased, asking to have said report approved and
Administrator discharged.

Local Items
-Wesley Cotton, who has been an invalid for a long time, died on
Wednesday morning. His family have our condolence.
-Bro. Hinchon, of the Waukon Democrat, rejoices in the late
appearance of a new girl baby at his residence. Congratulations.
-T. Shortreed and family left on Thursday, their present
objective point being Ida county, though they expect to go to
Washington territory.
Agricultural Society Meeting
The regulare annual meeting of the Allamakee County Agricultural
Society was held at Barnard's Hall last Wednesday for the purpose
of electing officers and hearing reports, etc. The meeting was
called to order by president Earle. The election of officers was
taken up and each of the old corps was unanimously elected, viz.,
president, W.C. Earle; vice president, H.G. Grattan, treasurer,
A.E. Robbins, secretary A.J. Rodgers. The election of directors
resulted in the selection of the following:
