Thoma has the basement wall of his new brick already in.
Will Mitchell has returned from a winter's visit in New York.
The sidewalk to the cemetery was laid down in good order on
Tuesday.
John S. Mott and N.J. Beedy were elected school directors last
Monday.
A. Hart has several acres of winter wheat which looks well. He
raises more or less each year.
Rev. Laughin and wife arrived home on Saturday. His health is
improved though he is quite feeble.
Messer & Son have opened a branch store at Dover Mills werhe
they keep a general stock of merchandise.
There will be a donation next Thursday evening March 21st, at the
City Hall, for the benefit of Rev. L.P. Mathews.
S.J. Russell who has spent the winter at Wichita, Kan., has
returned. His son, John, remained, his health being much
improved.
The Jones estate has been sold to Geo. Lull, and M.V. Jones will
close out his dairy and other effects and seek his fortune in the
west.
Died -- At Bluffton, Winneshiek co., Iowa, Feb. 23, 1878, of
consumption, at her son's residence, Mrs. Susan E. Walker, aged
57 years. Her remains were brought to Hardin for interment.
