BLACKOUT BABY

Edmund Eugene Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence C. Johnson, during his lifetime will have quite an interesting story to tell about his birth. The child was born in Corning at the home of his parents last Thursday evening while the town was officially blacked out. The attending physician and nurse strictly observed the rules of the black-out until just a very few minutes before the baby was born. Darkened flash lights were used until it became absolutely necessary to turn on the electric lights. The baby was born about ten minutes before the “all clear” signal was given.
