Records that can be obtained at the County Recorder:

* Vital Records (Births, Marriages, Deaths):
Uncertified copies of vital records can be obtained by anyone and are less expensive, but these may NOT be provided to mail-in requests or by phone. Customers must obtain uncertified copies at the recorder's office IN PERSON. Only certified copies to entitled recipients may be issued through mail-in applicants.

Out of town researchers. We are in need of more volunteers to help out-of-town researchers obtain county records. The volunteer will only charge for actual costs—photo-copies, postage etc. Current courthouse record lookup volunteer: LaVerna K. Moser.

The public may call the state Health Statistics office at (515) 281-4944 from 7:00 a.m to 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for state-observed holidays.
