Thirty-Seven Men

In Line for New Soldiers -- Answer Government Call -- Fine Looking Lot.

     In spite of the bad weather and very bad roads a large crowd witnessed the departure of thirty-seven drafted men for Camp Dodge Thursday morning.
     A procession was formed on main street at nine o'clock composed of citizens, school children, G. A. R., Sons of veterans and drum cops, and the Humboldt band.  As the procession neared the depot, the ranks broke and stood to one side while the new soldiers marched by, while the crowd stood with bared heads.
     The train was somewhat late, and a short wait was necessary, but as the time for farewells and leave-takings approached, time passed rapidly, and the big crowd joined in shouting "God Speed."
     The train was laden with chosen men from other communities, and there were vigorous cheers, hand-shakings and silent tears, while the boys on the train shouted "Hurrah for Uncle Sam," and "Down with the Kaiser," which lessened the strain.  Humboldt county is proud of the manly men she is sending to the front.  Those who went are as follows:
