BILLINGS, MT - Kent R. Zimmerman, 58, Billings, MT, died at his home on Feb. 6, 2002 of emphysema.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Avenue, Billings.

Interment nwas in Yellowstone Valley Memorial' Park.

Kent R. Zimmerman was born June 4, 1943 in New Hampton, the son of Virgil and Ilda Zimmerman. He graduated from New Hampton Community High School in 1961 and from Iowa State University in 1966, after which he began a career in marketing that included service to International ‘ Multifoods in Minneapolis and Webb Publishing in St. Paul. He spent 16 years as vice-president and senior vice-president of the Billings-based Kampgrounds of America, retiring in 2000.

Kent was twice the Montana delegate to the White House Commission on Small Business. He served on the boards of the Recreational vehicle Association, the Rural Tourism Commission and the Old West Trail Foundation. He was involved in the planning process for the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial expedition Celebration, initiating the production of a one-hour film about the Expedition which was distributed free to schools and Chambers of Commerce. . He enjoyed being with his family, wildlife, camping, hunting, golfing, music and old west culture, writing western inspired poetry..

Surviving are his wife, Susan; his children, Matthew (Christy), Billings, Roderic (Sherry), Shepherd, MT, Elizabeth (Rick) Heath, Shepherd, MT; nine grandchildren; a sister, Kay (C.H.) Snider, Twin Falls, ID.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
