GRUNDY CENTER - Robert C. Walters, 75, Grundy Center, died April 24, 2002 at Allen Hospital, Waterloo after a brief illness.

Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Monday, April 29 at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls.

Inurnment will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at New Hampton Cemetery with graveside military rites provided bv the New Hampton American Legion and VFW.

Visitation was 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls.

Robert was born April 18, 1927 in New Hampton, the son of Daniel and Mvrtle (Brott) Walters. He graduated from New Hampton High School in 1945 and went on to serve his country in the United States Army Aircorp during WWII. He was a State Trooper with the Iowa State Patrol, retiring in 1983. He then worked at GMAC Mortgage for ten years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, hunting, bowling and watching baseball and football games. He also looked forward to the Walters family reunion every summer.

Survivors include one son, Dan (Shannon) Walters, Sparta, WI; three daughters, Julie (Steve) Tyler, Memphis, TN, Janet (Lome) Bidwell, Cedar Falls and Amy Walters, Des Moines; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Zeien, Hastings, MN and three step-children.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Art and three sisters, Ruth Stapher, Betty Fliger and S. Elouise Roberson.
