Wait, Ruth M. nee Lantz - Died 2002NASHUA - Ruth Madelia Wait died Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at the 9th St. Chautauqua Nursing Home, Charles City of natural causes. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 17 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua. Visitation was 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 16 at Chenoweth and Son Funeral Home, Nashua and will also be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Ruth was the daughter of Winford and Sue (Shorter) Lantz. She received her education at Plainfield High School. She married Ronald Wait on April 10, 1934 in Waverly. She was a homemaker and worked along side her husband on their farm. She was a foster grandparent at Crestview in Charles City for seven years. She served as Sunday School Superintendent, teacher and treasurer at the Little Brown Church and was a member of the Women's Fellowship there. Survivors include two daughters, Melba Rick, Mt. Horeb, WI and Kathy Cer-winske, Nashua; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Irma Stuffle-beam, Waterloo and a sister-in-law, Ethel Lantz, Charles City. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ronald, in 1985; a daughter, Sandra Wait; three brothers, Gerald, Earl and Delbert Lantz; a sister-in-law and special friend, Ruth Poppe. Memorials may be directed to the family.
