CHARLES CITY ~ Olive Usher, 86, Charles City, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002 at Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City of natural causes.

Funeral Services were 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2 a t Bethany Alliance Church, Charles City.

Visitation was from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1 a t Chenoweth and Son Funeral Home, Nashua and one hour before time of service at the church on Monday.

Olive was born in Chickasaw County, the daughter of Earl and Sara (Beck) Milligan. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1934. She married Arnold Usher on Feb. 7, 1937 at the New Hampton Congregational Church. Olive worked as a cook in Charles City at the Norlon Hotel, the Boulevard Cafe, the Maid rite and at Club Iowa for 11 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Hagen, Evansdale, Marlys (Edward) Karr, Paxton, IL and Marjorie Dill, Vinton; one son, Gary (Becky) Usher, Milwaukee, WI; two sisters, Leona Jensen, Albert Lea, MN and Gladys Diesburg, Ionia; 20 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren and 19 great great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Arnold, in 1983; three brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Harold Milligan; one sister, Lucille Bacon and a great-great grandson.
