Steege, Pearl nee Speicher 1905 - 2002

FREDERICKSBURG -- Pearl Steege, 96, Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton of natural causes.

Funeral Services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 at Peace United Church of Christ, Fredericksburg.

Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.

Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Chenoweth and Son Funeral Home, Fredericksburg and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Pearl was born Dec. 9, 1905 in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Charles and Winnie (Martin) Speicher. She graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1923 and attended Upper Iowa University, Fayette, she married Paul Steege on June 6,1928. She was a teacher. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Gary (Carol) Steege, Fredericksburg; one granddaughter, a brother, Roy Speicher, Fredericksburg; five sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Paul, in 1990; two sisters, Vera Whitnabel and Winifred Elliott and four brothers, Earl, Leo, Don and Gene Speicher.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
