Schroeder, Viola V. nee Debban 1926 - 2002

CHARLES CITY - Viola Schroeder, 76, Charles City, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 at Floyd. County Memorial Hospital, Charles City.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City with Rev. Dennis Niezwaag, pastor of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 and also will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday a t Hauser Funeral Home.

Viola Virginia Debban Schroeder was born April 22, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Oscar and Ida (Ahlmann) Debban. She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1943. On Aug. 12,1944, she was united in marriage to Russell Schroeder in Austin, MN. They farmed for many years near Charles City.

Viola was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, worldng with the animals on the farm, antiquing and going to auctions and especially anything having to do with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Russell, Charles City; five children, Ginny (Roger) Horton, New Hampton, Russell (Vicky) Schroeder, Jr., Charles City, Gary Schroeder, Charles City, Tamara (Roger) Sutton, Charles City and Devon Schroeder and friend Evelyn, Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lillian (Ed) Bartz and Josie Cassel, both of Rochester, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Melvin Debban and Oscar Debban Jr. and two sisters, Eunice Lloyd and Violet Debban who died in infancy.
