NEW HAMPTON - Paul Perkins, 59, New Hampton, died Thursday, May 16, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN of natural causes.

Funeral Services were 10:3Q, a.m. Monday, May 20 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton with Reverend Eugene Walther officiating. Gerald Bailey was the organist and accompanied those in attendance singing "Amazing Grace". <

Burial was in New Hampton Cemetery with Dick Rausch, Tim Rausch, Jim Rausch, Chad Rausch, Larry Schmitt and Reece Ball serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearfers were Tony Perkins, Jay Perkins, Chad Perkins, Melvin Britt, Mike Korn, Joshua Knutson, Scott Gebej and Kipp William Jones.

Visitation was from 2 to 5 p.m.Sunday, May 19 at Conway -Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton and an hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday.

Forrest Paul Perkins was born Dec. 2,1942 in Northwood, the son of Joseph and lone (Perry) Perkins. He was raised in Northwood and later moved to New Hampton. He married Sandy Jones on March 17, 1962 at the Congregational Church in New Hampton. The couple resided in New Hampton all of their married lives. Paul worked at Gerber Cleaners for many years, Vern Laures Chevrolet and was currently working at Rausch Brothers Trucking in Ionia. He was an active member of the Jaycees in earlier years. He enjoyed his shop, woodworking, coin collecting and record collecting.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy; two daughters, Jody Knutson and Melvin Britt, Boyd and Julie Perkins and Mike Korn, Walters, MN; three sons, Tony Perkins, Preston, MN, Jay (Lisa) Perkins, New Hartford and Chad (Elizabeth) Perkins, Colwell; 14 grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Stan Perkins, New Hampton and Robert Perkins of Michigan and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Charles and two sisters, Dory and Connie.
