JACKSONVILLE, FL - Paul O'Day, 72, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002 in Jacksonville, FL of natural causes.

At Paul's request, he will be cremated and no services will be held. Hardages Giddens Funeral Home, Jacksonville, FL is in charge of arrangements.

Paul was born March 28, 1930 in Dresdon Township, Chickasaw County, the son of Gordon and Maude (Stephen) O'Day. He graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1948 and married Lurline Degner on June 8, 1949 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua. Paul owned a barber shop in New Hampton for 13 years. After moving to Jacksonville, FL in 1974, he barbered at the Navy Base, retiring in 1992. Paul was a coin collector and enjoyed traveling, trout fishing, hunting and playing cards. He was a member of the Greater Jacksonville Coin Club.

Survivors include his wife, Lurline; a daughter, Paula O'Day, Jacksonville, FL; a son, Aaron O'Day, West Des Moines; one granddaughter, Ashley O'Day, West Des Moines; six nephews and four nieces.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Eleanor Henninger and one brother, Ernie O'Day.
