ALPHA —Ruvie R. Mahler, 86, Waterloo, formerly of Alpha, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002 at the Davenport Lutheran Home of natural causes.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m Saturday, Sept. 7 a t Grace Reformed Church, Waterloo with Rev. David Van Netten officiating.

Interment will be in Alpha Cemetery, Alpha with Michael Sires, Mervyn Sires, Larry Stange, Tom Paul, Rick Paul, Doug Paul, Arley Stange and Fred Stange as pallbearers.

Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church.

Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton is in charge of arrangements.

Ruvie was born May 5, 1916 in Alpha, the daughter of William T. and Nina (Cummings) Richardson. She graduated from Alpha High School in 1933. She married John G. Mahler on April 21, 1938 in Nashua at the Little Brown Church in the Vale. The couple lived in Alpha, California and Waterloo. Ruvie was active in Grace Church, Waterloo, the school PTA and was an accomplished seamstress. She loved flowers and especially her roses.

Survivors include four sons, John, Kansas City, KS, James, Bettendorf, Michael, LeClaire, and Mark, Waterloo; one daughter, Pamela Rathe, LeClaire; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Alice Cooney, Hawaii, Faye Pierce, Alpha, Florence Wessellus, Kenosha,. WI and Feme Ferguson, Bloomington, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John and a brother, James Richardson.
