NEW HAMPTON - Sylvia Bertha Lena Linkemeyer, 96, New Hampton, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton of natural causes.

A. Service of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton with Reverend David Bergstrom and Kevin Frey officiating. Edith Kolthoff will be the organist and will accompany those in attendance singing "Abide With Me" and "Joy To The World". The vocalists, Jason Speltz and Julie Denner will sing "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden" Michael Perry will be the cross bearer.

Interment will be in New Hampton Cemetery, New Hampton with Wayne Ode-kirk, Roger Johnson, John Condon, Aaron Blatti, Gordon Speltz and Ryan Speltz serving as casket bearers.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton and will also be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Sylvia Bertha Lena Linkemeyer was born Aug. 5, 1906 in the family home near Boyd, the daughter of Herman and Minnie (Koeppe) Klossowsky. She attended New Hampton public schools. On Nov. 20, 1932 she was united in marriage to Edward Linkemeyer at United Congregational Church. They , lived in New Hampton their entire married lives. Sylvia 1 was an 'active member ofTrinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed volunteering and socializing at the New Hampton Civic Center until she became ill and entered the New Hampton Care Center. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, quilting, being with family and nature walks.

Survivors include a daughter, June (Robert) Kam-rath, New Hampton; two granddaughters, Deb (Tom) Speltz, New Hampton and Cindy Perry, Louisville, KY; three great-grandsons; two sisters-in-law, Mae Klossowsky, Waverly and Margaret Linkemeyer, Waterloo and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Edward, in 1972; two sisters, Hilda Klossowsky and Alice Canty; three brothers, Oscar, Clarence and Bert Klossowsky and one great-grandson, Alexander Speltz.
