NEW HAMPTON - Craig C. Leichtman, 52, New Hampton, died Friday, April 19, 2002 at his home near New Hampton of natural causes.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 at Williamstown United Methodist Church with Reverend Bob Conners and Reverend Catherine Luck officiating. Evelyn Kahn will be the organist and accompany the soloist Rich Leichtman singing "Amazing Grace" and ''The Lord's Prayer".

Burial will be in the New Hampton Cemetery with Dan Leichtman, Dave Leichtman, Jim Stapleton, Lee Stiefel, Mark Leichtman, Adam Leichtman, Ralph Beck and Craig Kolthoff serving as casket bearers.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 22 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton and will also be an hour prior to services at the church.

Craig Clement Leichtman was born March 26,1950 in New Hampton, the son of Kenneth and Doris (Kolthoff) Leichtman. He graduated from New Hampton High School in 1968 and continued his education at the University of Northern Iowa. After his schooling he moved back to New Hampton and farmed with his parents, specializing in poultry production. He later moved on to his own farm where he was currently residing. He worked as a part-time letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in New Hampton for seven years. He also continued grain farming and raising hogs. He was an active member of the Williamstown United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer for many years. He also served the church as a lay minister. He enjoyed watching television and enjoyed birds and all living animals.

Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Doris Leichtman; four brothers, Kim (Rose), Ted (Donna), Dennis, Kurt (Sue), all of New Hampton; a sister, Julia Boldra, Blue Spring, MO; seven nieces and nephews and two grandnieces.

Preceding him in death were his paternal and maternal grandparents.
