Kissinger, Walter 1920 - 2002

Funeral services for Walter “Pete” Kissinger were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16 at the United Methodist Church in Harmony, MN with Rev. David F. Laechel officiating. Interment was in State Line Cemetery. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Walter, 82, died Wednesday, February 13 at St. Mary’s Hospital following a short illness.

Walter Kissinger was born January 26,    1920 near Wessington Springs, SD, the son of George and Louisa (Snyder) Kissinger. He came to Spring Grove in 1945 after serving in the Army. He worked for Roverud Construction in Spring Grove and hauled milk for the Rochester Dairy. He was a long distance trucker with International Transport for 28 years.

On October 11, 1947 he married Avis Narum at Mabel and they moved to Harmony.

He was a member of the MN Odd Fellows Lodge and the Rebekah Lodge and the Harmony United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Avis of Harmony; one daughter: Helen Krueger of Cresco; three sons: David of Hixton, WI, Larry of Sturgis, MI, and Mark of Cresco; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.
