Johnson, Martha Mary K. nee Stukerjuergen 1911 - 2002

HILLSBORO - Martha Mary Kathryn Johnson, 90, rural Hillsboro, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 at the Donnellson Care Center.

A Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 at St. John's Catholic Church in Houghton with Rev. Dennis Hoffman presiding.

Interment was in St. John's Cemetery.

Visitation was held after 1 m. at St. John’s Church on onday, Feb. 11, with a 3 p.m. Rosary and 7 p.m. Wake Service, followed by a service by the West Point American Legion Auxiliary.

Martha was born Oct. 10, 1911 in Salem, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Box) Stukerjuergen. On Jan. 9, 1937 she was united in marriage with Carl L. Johnson in Houghton. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society, St. Paul Daughters of Isabella, West Point American Legion Auxiliary, West Point Garden Club, Farm Bureau and Senior Citizens.

Surviving are her husband, Carl; three daughters, Phyllis (Bob) Morris, South Beloit, IL, Maureen (Bill) Busta, New Hampton, Judy (Mark) Friedman, Peoria, IL; two sons, Jerry (Barb), Salem, Patrick (Laurie), Santa Rosa, CA; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Eugene; two brothers; six sisters.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Research or St. John's Catholic Church, Houghton.

Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, was in charge of arrangements.
