Hockens, Vivian C. nee Koenigs 1924 - 2002

Funeral services for Vivian Hockens of Mclntire were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville with Rev. Ray E. Atwood officiating. Interment was in Wayne Cemetery in Mclntire. Honorary pallbearers were: Eric Kozak, Jason Rowe, Denise Daniels, Amanda Jacobs, Jared Stevenson, and Bethany Hockens. Pallbearers were: Tony Kozak, Edgar Rowe, Chad Hockens, Rod Jacobs, Jr., and Jamie and Brendan Stevenson. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Vivian, 77, died Friday, July 5, 2002 at her home in Mclntire.

Vivian Catherine Hockens was born September 26,    1924 , at Adams, MN, the daughter of Joe Jr. and Rosa (Krebsbach) Koenigs. She grew up in the Adams area and attended Sacred Heart School in Adams.

On February 16, 1946 she married Perry Hockens at Immaculate Conception Church in Riceville. They operated a restaurant in Bailey. They lived in the Mclntire area, and then settled in town.

Vivian was employed at the Fox River Mills in Osage for over 30 years. The last four years, she worked part-time at LeRoy Products.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, its Altar and Rosary Society. She liked playing cards.

She is survived by three daughters: Ida Rowe of LeRoy, MN, Brenda Stevenson of Mclntire, and Julie Jacobs of Minnetonka, MN; one son: James of Rochester, MN; 12 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; two brothers: Ernest of CA and Edmund of MI; and four sisters: Helen Mullenbach of Adams, MN, Dorothy Gunsallus of Mclntire, Millie Barnes of Grand Meadow, MN, and Margaret Kohel of WI.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Perry on March 30, 1978; one daughter: Sandy Kozak; her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
