Heim, Venice M. nee Stevens 1904 - 2002

Funeral services for Vernice Heim of St. Charles were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26 at the St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Charles with Rev. James Callahan officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles. Hoff Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Vernice, 98, died Saturday, June 22, 2002 at the Hillcrest Community Care Center in Plainview, MN.

Vernice Marie Heim was born January 24, 1904 in St. Charles, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Brown) Stevens. She attended school in St. Charles, graduating in 1922. She went to normal training for teaching at Winona Teachers College. She taught in several country schools from 1922 to 1928.

On August 24, 1927 she married Norman Heim.

Vernice was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and was involved in many activities of the church.

She loved traveling and playing cards.

She is survived by two sons: Thomas of St. Charles and Ken of Rochester, MN; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother: Leo of Atlanta, GA.

Vernice was preceded in death by her husband; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her parents; and one sister.
