NEW HAMPTON - Louie R. Hagedorn, 91, New Hampton, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton of natural causes.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton with Rev. Kathleen Armstrong of St. John's Lutheran Church in Frederika officiating. Edith Kolthoff will be organist, accompanying soloist Rev. Armstrong in singing "in The Garden". Those in attendance will sing "Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art".

Burial will be in the New Hampton Cemetery with grandsons, Randy, Mark, Jay, Darrin, Christopher and Michael Hagedorn serving as casket bearers.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton and an hour prior to services on Saturday.

Louie Rudolpn Hagedorn was born March 16, 1910 near Frederika, the son of Levi and Amelia (Malzahn) Hagedorn. He was baptized in infancy and received his schooling in Dresden Township and Frederika High School. On Sept. 11, 1932, Louie was united in marriage with Olinda Bremer in Harmony, MN. Following their marriage the couple farmed east of Frederika for a short time before purchasing a farm west of Frederika, where they farmed for 52 years and lived for 53 years. The couple moved to New Hampton Nov. 1, 1993. Louie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Frederika. He enjoyed gardening and planting trees.

Surviving are four sons, Stanley (Joyce), Lubbock, TX, Darol (Sharon), Cedar Falls, David (Lois), Janesville, Dennis (Kae), Cedar Falls; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Olinda on Sept. 14, 1997; four brothers, William, Ed, Albert, Leslie; six sisters, Bertha, Ida, Anna, Marie, Emma and Leola.
