NEW HAMPTON -- Thomas D. Goebel, 49, Key West, FL, formerly of New Hampton, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at his home from an apparent heart attack.

Memorial Services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton with Pastor David ?ergstrom officiating.

Private Family Internent will take place at a later date. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 before he service at the funeral home.

Thomas was born Jan. 11, 1953 in New Hampton, the son of Abraham and Bertha Hugh?anks Goebel. He graduated from New Hampton High School in 1971. On Oct. 27, 1977 in Cedar Rapids, he married Wendy Straw of New Hampton. The couple lived for many years in Stevens Point, WI where they operated several businesses and moved to Key West in 2001 where they owned a retail store. In his free time, Thomas enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy; one son, Jason Goebel, Stevens Point, Wl; seven brothers, Vincent Goebel, Mlinneapolis, MN, Arnold (Carol) Goebel, Denver; Kenny (Kathy) Goebel, New Hampton; Reynold (Beverly) Goebel, Reinbeck, Ervin Goebel, Brainerd, MN, Ralph (Mary) Goebel, Ames and Robert (Nancy) Goebel, Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Mary Huebner, Rochester, MN, JoAnn (Robert) Johnson, Hoffman Estates, 1L and Alice Jane (Bart) Murphy, Justice, IL.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Jim Goebel, William Goebel, Dennis Goebel and Richard Goebel and one sister, Lois Ann Goebel.
