ALTA VISTA - Bernard Galing, 81, Alta Vista, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002 at Colonial Manor, Elma of natural causes.

Private Family Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Mt.. Calvary Cemetery, Alta Vista.

Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, Elma is in charge of arrangements.

Bernard Joseph Galing was born July 23, 1920 on a farm south of Alta Vista, the son of Herman and Mary (Koci) Haling. He attended country school near his home and Immaculate Conception Catholic School, North Washington. He was united in marriage to Rosella Grober on Aug. 18, 1969 at St. Bernard Catnolic Church, Alta Vista. He farmed near Alta Vista his entire life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Rosella; three step sons, James (Sylviat) Tilkes, California, Paul (Carol) Tilkes, Austin, MN and Patrick (Charlotte) Tilkes, California; a step daughter-in-law, Kathy Tilkes, Dubuque; a brother, Henry Galing, Alta Vista and two sisters, Hilda Zwei-bohmer, Alta Vista and Rosella Reiss, Charles City.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a step son, Leonard and two sisters, Agnes Eichenberger and Helen Geerts.
