NEW HAMPTON -- Carole A. Eslinger, 60, New Hampton, died Thursday, March 28, 2002 at her home of Metastatic Lung Carcinoma.

Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Monday, April 1 at United Methodist Cnurch, New Hampton with Reverend Catherine Luck and Reverend Brian Eslinger, a nephew officiating. Music for the service was provided by the organist, Kim Hilgendorf, flutist, Kathleen Ayers, soloist, Melissa Smith and the First United Methodist Church Handbell Choir. Musical selections included "Christ the Lord Has Risen Today", "Amazing Grace", "Jesus, The Very Thought of Thee" and "Morning Has Broken.

Interment was in the New Hampton Cemetery with Matt Hoodjer, Brandon Wedeking, Jeremy Johnson, Riley Boch-man, Kayla Lodge, Kathryn Fenneman, Nancy Johnson and Sarah Wedeking serving as casket bearers.

Visitation was one hour prior to services at the church.

Carole A. Eslinger was born Feb. 19, 1942 in Osage, the daughter of Henry and Ellen (Lundberg) Ketelsen. She graduated from the high school in Little Cedar in 1959. She graduated from Iowa State University in 1963 with a major in Home Economics. She received her Masters of Arts in School Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa in 1992. On March 10, 1963 she was united in marriage to Donald Eslinger at the Little Cedar Methodist Church. The •couple lived in five states in the early years of their marriage. Carole was a. counselor at Clarksville. She was a member of the American/Iowa Association for Counseling and Development; Iowa State Education Association, ,-Clarksville Educational Association and Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She had also been a co-owner of Tacasa', a sportswear business in New Hampton. She also served the New Hampton School District as a substitute teacher for 15 years. She enjoyed music, theater, reading, sewing, flower gardening and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; two daughters, Laura (Ivan) Kangrga, St. Louis, MO and Beth (Brian) Button, Des Moines; three sisters, Fern Crites, Sallisaw, OK, Virginia Powell, Jacksonville, FL and Janet Bensend, Riceville and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her mother-in-law, Hattie.
