Funeral services for Lettie Ellison were held at the Bailey Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, VA with burial in the Mount Lawn Cemetery in Woodford, VA.

Lettie, 99, died January 2, 2002 at the Patty Elwood Center in Cresco.

Lettie Pierce Ellison was born July 4, 1902 in Covington, VA, the daughter of Charles and Rosa (Moss) Pierce. She received a degree in education and spent her life teaching.

She is survived by her children: Rosa Merritt of Ridgeway and Dr. Richard Ellison, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother: Elmore of Covington, VA.

Lettie was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Richard C. Ellison; four brothers: Raymond, Charles, Frederick, and Hilton; and one sister: Leafa Pierce.
