Services held for Velma Drilling, 89

Funeral services for Velma Drilling of St. Lucas were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 8 at St. Lukes Catholic Church in St. Lucas with Rev. Marvin Salz officiating. Interment was in St. Lukes Cemetery. Schluter-Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Velma, 89, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah following a lengthy illness.

She is survived by four sons: Daryl of St. Lucas, Loras of Wau-coma,' Earl of Waucoma, and Jack of Decorah; two daughters: Darlyn Schmitt of Waucoma and Sue Ann Pedersen of Hastings, MN; 26 grandchildren; 34 greatgrandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; and one sister: Adeline Broihier of Sumner.
