Drewelow, Robert Edwin 1916 - 2002

WATERLOO -Robert Edwin Drewelow, 85, Waterloo, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

Funeral Services were Wednesday, Jan. 23 at St. John's Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Full military rites were conducted by Waterloo and Evansdale AMVETS Posts 19 and 31.

Visitation was from 2 to 8 p m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Hagarty - Waychoff - Grarup Funeral Service on South Street with a 3 p.m. Rosary and 7 p.m. Vigil Service.

Robert was born May 7,1916 in St. Cloud, MN, the son of Andrew and Mary (Coleman) Drewelow. He married Loretta Ott on Nov. 19, 1945 in Little Turkey. He worked for Stoltz Construction for four years, farmed for two years ana was an inspector for John Deere for more than 31 years, retiring in 1977. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, travel, word search puzzles, latch hook, gardening, Chicago Cubs baseball and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta; his children, JoAnn Kauffman, Bristow, VA, Raymond J. (Carol) Drewelow, Rosemount, MN, Mary (Mike) Ahles, Waterloo, John (Judy) Drewelow, Harvard, IL and Nancy Tilley, San Antonio, TX; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; 14 step great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth Bussard and Ramona (Jack) Campbell, Vancouver, WA, Rita Troyna, New Hampton and Rosemary Aubin, Phoenix, AZ and a sister-in-law, Ann Drewelow.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Rosella Hopkins; two brothers, Raymond J. and Roland; three brothers-in-law, Milo Troyna, Bill Bussard and Joe Aubin and a sister-in-law, Freida Drewelow.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
