Funeral services for a former Riceville and New Haven resident, Keith J. Dunlay, 76 of Waterloo, were held Friday, March 1, 2001 at Sacred Heart Church in Waterloo. Keith died Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Covenant Medical Center emergency room of natural causes.

Keith was bom June 6, 1925 in Riceville, son of Vincent J. and Matilda Kleckner Dunlay. He married Ruth C. Byrnes on October 30, 1948 at St. Mary’s Chapel, New Haven. Mr. Dunlay was a machinist for John Deere for 36 years, retiring August 31, 1983.

He is survived by his wife; nine sons, Tim of Ames, Danny, Mike, Pat, Dennis, Tom and John, all of Waterloo, Perry of Cedar Rapids, and Brian of Olathe, Kan.; three daughters, Colleen Hansen of Hudson, Susie Billerbeck of Reinbeck and Nancy Walter of Shoreview, Minn.; 33 grandchildren; two brothers, Jim of Garner and Terry of Bloomington, Minn, and a sister, Dorothy Fox, of Orchard; and brother-in-law, Dean Byrnes of Riceville.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Vincent (Rusty) and Rex; and sister, Kate Zobeck.
