NEW HAMPTON - Arlene J. Denner, 88, New Hampton, died Saturday, July 6, 2002 a t the New Hampton Care Center of natural causes.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton with Pastor David Bergstrom and Pastor Kevin Frey officiating. Music for the service will be provided by Dennis Strum as organist. The- congregation will sing "How Great Thou Art", "Faith of Our Fathers" and "On Eagle's Wings".

Interment will be in the New Hampton City Cemetery with grandchildren Tom Gorman, Mike Gorman, Jim Gorman, Barb Gorman, Bev Coody, Karen Mulford, Brett Denner, Teresa Harper and Boyd Denner as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 at Huge-back Funeral Home, New Hampton where there will be a 7 p.m. Video Memorial Tribute. Further visitation will be an hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Arlene was born Sept. 11, 1913 in rural Chickasaw County, the daughter of Samuel and Justina (Walen-tiny) Boos. She attended rural country school and New Hampton High School. On Nov. 28, 1933 at the former St. Paul Lutheran Church parsonage in New Hampton, she married William Denner. The couple initially lived and farmed near Fredericksburg and moved to New Hampton in 1938. Arlene had worked many years as a clerk at the former Coast to Coast Hardware Store in New Hampton. While her two children were young, Arlene was very active in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She became a resident of the New Hampton Care Center in December of 2001. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Ladies' Aid there. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and loved to fish.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty (Jack) Gorman, New Hampton; one son, Glen (Judith) Denner, Wetumpka, AL; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl (Geraldine) Boos and Robert Boos, both of New Hampton and two sisters, Lorraine Eiler, New Hampton and Colletta Buss, St. Paul, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William, in 1983 and a granddaughter, Sara Rickerts, in 1997.
