NEW HAMPTON - Iva Cutsforth, 90, Evansdale, formerly of New Hampton, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo of natural causes.

Funeral Services were Saturday, June 29 at Congregational United Church of Christ, New Hampton with Reverend Mary Hatch presiding. Linda Wentz was the pianist and accompanied LaVem Parker singing "I Believe", "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". Linda Wentz sang "Softly and Tenderly".

Interment was in New Hampton Cemetery with Randy Wentz, Jim Wentz, Kellen Cutsforth, Tim Cutsforth, Shane Cutsforth and Jason Card serving as casket bearers.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 28 at Con-way-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton and an hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Iva Lucille Cutsforth was born Feb. 29, 1912 at Oakfield, WI, the daughter of Eugene and Lillian (Ellicson) Underwood. The family moved to New Hampton when she was five weeks old. She received her education in New Hampton graduating from eighth grade in 1925. She went on to attend high school, but had to quit because her mother became ill. She eventually went back and received her GED in the 1970s. On May 28,1932 she was united in marriage to Harry Cutsforth in Galena, IL. After their marriage the couple resided in New Hampton and established the Harry Cutsforth Truckline in 1936. Harry died in 1955 and she continued to operate the business until 1962, when she went to work for various businesses in New Hampton. She moved to Evansdale in 1997 where she remained independent until June 19, 2002. She was an active member of the Congregational United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a Boy Scout Troop Leader and a member of the IOOF Rebecca Lodge since 1944, holding all offices.

Survivors include a daughter, Lois (Charles) Wentz, Waterloo; three sons, Allen (Pat), Rocky Ford, CO, Kenneth (Susan), Branson, MO and David (Virginia), Waterloo; a sister, Marian (Walter) Macky, Seattle, WA; a brother, Vincent (Rita) Underwood, Sun City, AZ; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and three great greatgrandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Harry; six brothers, Ray, Merle, Lynn, Claude, Russell and Edwin Underwood and two sisters, Lillian, in infancy and Florence Galligan.
