NEW HAMPTON - Ilene Campbell, 76, New Hampton, died Thursday, March 7, 2002 at Oneota Riverview Care Facility, Decorah of natural causes.

Funeral Services were 10 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at Congregational United Church of Cnrist, New Hampton with Reverend Mary Hatch officiating. Gerald Bailey was the organist and accompanied soloist, Travis Bouska singing "On Eagle's Wings" and "The Lord's Prayer". Those in attendance sang "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art".

Burial was in the New Hampton Cemetery with Kurds Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Keith Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Kelly Johnson, Kent Johnson, Kraig Johnson, Robert Roberson, Jr., Christopher Roberson and Anthony Campbell serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers were Karmin Johnson, Kari Smith, Alisa Roberson, Andrea Kolbet, Teri Campbell and Beth Campbell. Visitation was from 4 to .m. Saturday, March 9 at onway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton and an hour prior to services at the church.

llene Mae Campbell was born Oct. 11, 1925 in Lake Township in Wright County near Holmes, the daughter of Frederick and Mabel (Vest) Knight. She attended country school near her home and grad- f uated from Clarion High School. On Dec. 1,1944 she was united in marriage to Richard E. Campbell at Clarion Presbyterian Church, Clarion. Following their marriage the couple farmed near Williams for one year before moving back to a farm near Clarion. In 1961 the couple moved to a farm north of New Hampton. llene worked for the Egg Plant, Great Plains and at ASCS for many years. The couple moved into New Hampton in 1997. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening and baking.

Survivors include her husband, Richard E.; two daughters, Peggy (Waldon) Johnson, Cresco and. Marcia (Robert) Roberson, New Hampton; a son Dean (Lynn) Campbell, Waverly; 16 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Orlin Knight and Lyden Knight and a sister, Avis Huffman.
