Blake, Genevieve T. Retterath 1933 - 2002

Funeral Services for Genevieve Blake of Riceville will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 27 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville with Rev. Ray. E. Atwood officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Riceville. Lindstrom Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Genevieve, 69, died Sunday, March 24, 2002 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Genevieve Theresa Blake was born January 5, 1933 in Mclntire, the daughter of Lawrence and Marie (Wettstein) Retterath. She attended local schools and graduated from Adams High School in Adams, MN.

On October 30, 1951 she married James Blake at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. She worked as an aide at the Riceville Community Rest Home for 28 years.

She enjoyed crocheting and gardening.

She is survived by her husband James of Riceville; four sons: Michael of Iowa City. Steven of Shakopee, MN, Carl of Morgan, MN, and William of Atlanta, GA; five daughters: Ann Kindschuh of Shakopee, MN, Karen Hartman, Rose Gansen, Cynthia Houser, and Marilyn Blake, all of Riceville; 15 grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; three brothers: John and Joseph, both of Adams, MN, and Thomas of Adams, IA; and seven sisters: Ann Hemann of St. Ansgar, Lorraine Kramer, Louise Goegren and Helen Weber, all of Adams, MN, Theresa Watson of Alandale, WI, Mary Rogne of Austin, MN, and Elizabeth Schik of Plymouth, MN.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents.
