ANKENY — Joseph F. Barnes, 88, of Mill-Pond Heahh Care Center in Ankeny died of a heart ailment Friday, December 13, 2002.

Services were at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, of which he was a member.

Burial was at Ankeny Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Mr. Barnes was born in Strawberry Point and had lived in Fredericksburg and Alpha before moving to Ankeny in 1967. He was a retired supervisor with Des Moines Dairy Coop and a member of Knights of Columbus and Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include two sons, Robert of West Des Moines and Richard of Fort Dodge; two brothers, Father John of New Hampton and EdwardModesta, CA; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. 

Preceding him in death was his wife, Fern on Oct. 11, 2001 and his mother.
