Bahnsen, Jerome C. 1935 - 2002

NASHUA -- Jerome C. Bahnsen, 67, Nashua, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002 at Rochester Methodist Hospital.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 at Zion Lutheran Church, Rockford, with Rev. Patricia Shaw officiating.

Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford with Military Rites conducted by Walker-Graper Post #338.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 at Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home, Rockford and was also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Jerome was born June 16, 1935 in Lamont, the son of Carl and Vera (Zeidler) Bhansen. Following his graduation from Rockford High School "Lefty" joined the U.S. Navy. He served his country from February 1957 until his honorable discharge in January 1961. He worked for White Farm Machinery, Charles City and later for Carlson Construction. Lefty enjoyed fixing things, being outdoors and hunting in his younger days.

Survivors include three children, Brenda (Kevin) Kehne, Apache Junction, AZ, Brian Bahnsen, Tucson, AZ and Todd (Sheryl) Bahnsen, Mesa, AZ; one brother, James (Marjorie) Bhansen, Mason City; six grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ralph Bahnsen; one brother-in-law, Pat Kuhlemeier and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynne; one sister, Patricia Kuhlemeier and two brothers, Richard Dale and Ralph Bahnsen.
