HARNISCH, Kathleen C. nee STEPHEN 1920 - 2001

 FREDERICKSBURG --Kathleen Cleo (Stephen) Harnisch, 81, Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo of natural causes.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Fredericksburg with Pastor Lewis Flanigan officiating. Music was provided by Gail Allison as organist accompanying Keith Kreun as vocalist. Hymn selections included "Mansion on the Hill" and "One Day at a Time".

Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg. Casket bearers were Denny Ott, Jim Hartson, Ronnie Knutson, Joe Doubek, Ralph Schultz and Milton Papousek.

Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home, Fredericksburg and one hour before services at the church on Saturday.

Kathleen was born Aug. 9, 1920 in Dresden Township, the daughter of Charles and^elvaj (Alcock) Stephen. She graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1938 and attended Iowa State Teachers College for three years. She married Ernest Harnisch on May 28, 1941 at the Baptist Church in Fredericksburg. She taught school for nine years, retiring in 1958. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Fredericksburg, where she had served as Sunday School teacher, helping with Bibles and W.S.C.S. She served as President of the P.T.A. and and Parents and held offices in the Amvets Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son, Phillip, Fredericksburg; two grandchildren; four ' greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Keith Stephen, Evansdale and Kent Stepnen, Waterloo.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Ernest, in 2000; her parents; a son, Benjamin, in 1969; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Harnisch and one sister, Zoella Benz Pelley.
