LA CROSSE, WI - Catherine Franke, 90, LaCrosse, WI died Friday, June 29, 2001.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, La Crosse, WI. Her godsons were her pallbearers.

Catherine was born on a farm near Lawler to Charles and Eva (Detterman) Franke on Sept. 9, 1910. She graduated from Lawler High School in 1928 and then went on to nursing school at St. Francis School of Nursing, La Crosse, WI where she graduated in 1931. She became Allis Chalmers first industrial nurse and worked there for nine years, did some years of private duty nursing and then worked at St. Francis Hospital as Personnel Director and then as Employee Health “Service" Director;" retiring in 1982.

Survivors include two nephews, Robert (Edna) Frank-e, New Hampton and Richard (Diane) Franke, La Crosse, WI; one niece, Joanne (Steve) Henry, Chippewa Falls, WI and 32 great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Vern France and Arthur Franke; one nephew, James Franke and a great-niece, Sara Franke.
