COX, Donald J. 1952 - 2001

CHARLES CITY - Donald J. Cox, 48, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001 of cancer.

A Funeral mass was held Monday, Jan. 8 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Charles City with Rev. Msgr. Stanley J. Hayek presiding.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City with a flag presentation at the graveside hy the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation was from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7 with a Vigil. Scriptural Wake Service at 7 p.m and also from 9 to 12 p.m. at the funeral home and an hour prior to the mass at the church.

Donald Joseph Cox was born April 4, 1952 in Charles City, the son of Virgil and Betty (Muetz) Cox. He attended school in Colwell and Charles City and served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam. He was a member of the Alta Vista Veterans of Foreign Wars and drove truck for Gorman Truck-ingof New Hampton.

Survivors include his fiance, Martha Pajer, Charles City; a son, Josh Cox, Charles City; his father, Virgil Cox, Alta Vista; three sisters, Linda Hickman, Salinas, CA, Patricia Good, Forest City and Virginia Darr, Red Wing, MN and three brothers, Larry and Robert Cox, both of New Hampton and Michael Cox, Osage.

Preceding him in death were his mother in 1996 and an infant sister, Elizabeth.

Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of North Iowa, Charles City site.
