NEW HAMPTON - Genevieve (Jennie) Burgart, 87, New Hampton, died Saturday, May 19, 2001 at New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Hampton with Rev. Carl Schmitt celebrating the mass.The pall will be placed on the casket by her four children. Music for the service will be provided by Sr. Lorraine oecher as organist. St. Joseph Resurrection Choir and tne Immaculate Conception Men's Choir of North Washington. Lectors for the service are June Bohr and Becky Bohr. The offertory gifts will be presented by Amy Boos, Linda Grubbe and Norma Meirick.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, North Washington with grandsons, Joe Rosenbaum, Paul Rosenbaum, Mike Schwickerath, Dale Schwickerath, David Hegenbarth, Matt Hegenbarth, Bob Burgart and Ray Burgart as pallbearers. Honorary pall-oearers are grandsons, Don Rosenbaum, Gene Rosenbaum, James Burgart and Jon Hegenbarth.

visitation is 3-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 at Larkin-Martin-Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary, a 7 p.m. parish scripture service and a 7:30 p.m. Video Memorial Tribute. Further visitation is an hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Genevieve was born Oct. 28, 913 in North Washington, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Diederich) Flick. She graduated from St. Mary's School, North Washington in 1930. On June 20, 1932 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, North Washington, she was united in marriage to Raymond William Burgart by the Rev. Puetz. The couple lived west of North Washington and raised their four children on the farm. Genevieve enjoyed raising chickens on the farm and always had a large garden. The couple moved to New Hampton in 1967. Genevieve worked at the former Fairview Care Center in New Hampton for 15 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Rosary Society. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, embroidery, playing cards, baking and canning.

Survivors include one son, Ralph (Mary Pat) Burgart, North Washington; three daughters, Luella Junko, Lawler, Marilyn (Gerald) Schwickerath, North Washington, Jeannette (Al) Hegenbarth, Mason City; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Miller, New Hampton and Agatha Schild, LaCrosse, Wl.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ray, in 1967; one brother, Cletus Flick and two sons-in-law, Eugene Junko and Eugene Rosenbaum.
