NEW HAMPTON - Adrian "Bud" Berst, 67, New Hampton, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001 in Chattanooga, TN from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 22 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Hampton, with Rev. Carl Schmitt presiding. The pall will be placed on the casket by his children. Lector is Joe Seally.

Interment is in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Lawler.

Visitation is Monday, May 21 from 3-8 p.m. at Larkin-Martin-Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton, with a 4 .m. Rosary, 6 p.m. Parish scripture Service and a 6:30 p.m. Video Memorial Tribute. Visitation is also an hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.

Adrian was born near Little Turkey on Jan. 7, 1934, the son of Victor and Mary (Jirak) Berst. He received his education in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School, Lawler. In 1954, at the age of 20, Adrian began working for the former Oliver Tractor Co. in Charles City, retiring after 39 years in 1993. Adrian and his wife, Theresa cleaned the State Bank of Lawler for 20 years and the Father Moran Center in Lawler for 22 years. In 1996, the couple moved to New Hampton. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Hampton and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Lawler. Adrian enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa; three sons, Tom (Marlys) Berst, Lawler, Timothy Berst, Woodward, Todd (Carla) Berst, Waucoma; two daughters, Diane (Bill) Veach, Rossville, CA, Dawn (David) Schultz, Ionia; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Valaria Franzen and Delores Franzen, New Hampton, Leona Sattler, Lawler; one brother, Charles Berst, Des Moines.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
