Genevieve E. Oksanen, 89

for, who died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000 the Mitchell County Health Care Center in Osage, Iowa.

The Rev. Tom Kolden officiated at the 2 p.m. services. Interment will be at the Pilot Mound Cemetery near Chatfield next spring.

Genevieve Egge was born April 25, 1911 at Crosby, North Dakota daughter of William and Dina (Strom) Egge. In 1920 the family moving back to Minnesota and farmed in Pilot Mound Township in Fillmore County.

She graduated from Lanesboro High School and the Milwauk Business College at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Leonard V. Oksanen in Milwaukee Aug. 4, 1934, and the couple lived in a number of Wisconsin cities before moving to LeRoy where was in the elevator and farm implement business.

Genevieve did defense work during World War II but was generally a homemaker throughout the majority of her life.

She had entered the Riceville Nursing Home in 1995.

Survivors include her twin sister, Mildred Nelson, Altus, Oklahoma and a brother, Dwaine Egge and his wife, Marion,of Chatfield, Minnesota

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, who died 1990.
