Josiah White, the man who had the vision and who provided funding for White's Institute (now Quakerdale), left no descendants on this earth; as his married daughter (per 1850 and 1860 census) had no children and his youngest daughter never married. But his ideas and name lives on through his Indiana and Iowa children's homes, which are today still helping children in need.
