A new traveling musical organization is to be formed in this city this
week. The company will be known as the Watts and Gardner Colored Musical
Comedy Co., and will be composed of a number of colored ladies and
gentlemen who are musicians, singers, comedians, dancers and in other
ways furnish a fine entertainment of a vaudeville and minstrel kind.
The proprietors are Jas M. Watts of this city and Prof Homer Gardner who
act as musical directors. Ed Reescer of this city is also of the company
and is the stage manager. The company will assemble here and will
rehearse here the next two weeks when they will open their tour in this
city with a performance.
They are all experienced show people and a good program can be expected
from them. Prof Gardner and Mr. Watts are at home in this kind of work
and it is predicted that the company will be a successful one.
