We want two dozen of these in the folders which were 7.50 and which had a blue liner around the margin. If the size of the picture could be made like the size of those last taken, without marring the good characteristies, I would be much more pleased. The others are good in size but just too sober to suit mr. Shinn, I have also marked three with an O. These I want made into a panel at a little later date. I would like very much to ahve the 2 doz. picture by the last of Nov. as I want to send them out in plenty of time before xmas. However we will not be able to take the panel for ourselves until sometime after Christmas. It has been quite difficult to decide on the best and sometimes I wish I could afford one of each one. Oct 26, 1943 Notson Studio: Mr. Notson: Received your letter to nite, as to the enlargement, my heart leaped & pounded thinking maybe you had discarded the negative. I had my picture taken & one enlargement 8x20, am getting a double glass folder, for them. Ross is trying hard to get home for xmas or before. He is in Gulf Port, Mississippi had a letter the other day, he is so homesick to come home. He wants me to come where he is, so I am leavein my job any time & go, or I may work until xmas if he can come home then go back with him, & stay with him until he goes over seas which can't be to for away. I would like his enlargement when ever you get it finished. If you have done just one that is really all I wanted, but if you have done 3 that is O.K. also, I'll just hang him all over the house. Mrs. Strong sent me the picture they had done of him. I liked it fine, but wanted the one smiling for myself. His smile is so natural, but I wanted one so much with his "cigar". While you are so busy don't bother with 3 if you have the one made, thats all I want.But am sending the money order for $5.50 in case you have gone ahead with the other two. After sending them to Pa. for Royce to see, we have decided to have 2 1/2 dozen of proof BB finished, I have it marked with an "X" on the back. We think they are very good, and hope they finish up well. We are wondering if we could have a different type of folder then we decided on the other day. We rather like the type which folds back -- you know like the folks are having, rather then the kind which opens and sets at a richt angle. Please dix them that way if at all possible, and I believe we said in the grey finsih. We wanted to bring them down ourselves but the snowstorn spoiled any such plans.
