Boylan Cemetery, Tipton Township, Section 20

Pioneer Cemetery

Located north of Hubbard 1 mile on Highway 65, then east on 260th St. 1 1/2 miles and 1/2 mile north on L Ave to 25651. It is on the west side of the road.  The 1883 Hardin Co. History states it is first cemetery in Tipton Township and was on land owned by W.W. BOYLAN. The first burial  was Ida DILTS, daughter of George W. and Lucinda DILTS, who died of typhoid fever, in 1859. A cemetery association was incorporated  in the spring of 1880.

NOTE:  there is a gravestone for 1850, three years before Hardin County was formed. It is for Lucy FRENCH,  wife of James JONES.
