1903 Alden Times
Dr. W.H. Lewis of this place and Miss Margaretta Campbell of New Hampton were united in marriage a the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. L. Cherrier, Monday evening December 16, Rev. Hanscom of the Congregational church officiating.
In reporting the marriage the New Hampton Tribune says: --"Miss Campbell, now Mrs. Dr. Lewis, is a young lady whom it is a pleasure to know, and who has an extensive circle of friends who will sincerely regret her departure from New Hampton, but whose best wishes will go with her to her future home in Alden. She has talent, education, and a good heart. Dr. Lewis is certainly to be congratulated on the prize he has won. Dr. Lewis is a native of Wisconsin, a graduate of Rush Medical College, Chicago, and now a practising physician at Alden. He is a fine appearing young man, and has all of the charactersitics which go to make up an examplary husband."
Dr. Lewis returned with his bride Tuesday afternoon, and within a few days, the spacious rooms adjoining the doctor's office, now being fitted up for the purpose, will constiture one of the pleasantest homes in town. The doctor, though with us but a few months, has a rapidly growing pratice and we wish him and his much happiness.
