Here is at least a partial listing of some of the Brethren Churches mentioned in the Coon River membership rolls. Except as noted, these churches are still active. The locations are as currently listed in the Northern Plains District of the COB. (COB = Church of the Brethren)

  • Brooklyn COB--Brooklyn, IA
  • Cedar Rapids COB--Cedar Rapids, IA
  • Coon River COB--Panora, IA (Church now known as Panora COB, Panora, IA)(just north of Panora)
  • Dallas Center COB--Dallas Center, IA
  • Des Moines Valley COB-- Elkhart, IA (Church no longer exists - merged with Ankeny COB, Ankeny, IA)
  • English River COB--South English, IA
  • Iowa River COB--Marshalltown, IA
  • Maxwell COB--Maxwell, IA
  • Panther Creek COB--Adel, IA (this could aso be said to located south of Perry)
  • Prairie City COB--Prairie City, IA
  • Rock River COB--closed about 1920; was located in Whiteside Co., IL, (across the river from Clinton, IA.)
  • Slifer COB --Gowrie, IA

In the Coon River listing there are several references to members being received in Carroll Co. There may have been a sister congregation somewhere in Carroll Co. served by the same pastor. In some areas where there were too few members to support a local church and/or pastor an affiliate was formed that was considered part of the host congregation.
